Patricia Maurice is Professor Emeritus in the Dept. of Civil & Environmental Engineering & Earth Sciences at the University of Notre Dame. Her research has focused on interactions between minerals, metals, organic matter, and bacteria. She received a Ph.D. in Applied Earth Sciences at Stanford University. Patricia has served as Associate Department Chair, Director of the Center for Environmental Science & Technology, Associate Dean for Research in Engineering, and Senior Mentor for Women Faculty in Engineering. She was co-PI of the NSF-funded Environmental Molecular Science Institute. She is the author of over 130 peer-reviewed publications along with a textbook titled Environmental Surfaces and Interfaces from the Nanoscale to the Global Scale (Wiley, 2009).
