Dr. Maryam Alsharqi is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Harvard-MIT Biomedical Engineering Center (Edelman Lab). Before joining MIT, she was an Assistant Professor in Cardiovascular Science at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University and a Visiting Researcher in the Cardiovascular Clinical Research Facility at the University of Oxford. She received her PhD (DPhil) degree in Cardiovascular Medicine from the University of Oxford, where she developed an AI-derived echocardiography score for precise assessment of young adults with hypertension. Maryam’s research focuses on the clinical applications of machine learning for disease progression and prediction modelling, with a specific focus on developing personalised diagnostic tools to aid the management of patients with cardiovascular diseases.
